The Role
Brooke is looking to recruit a Communication Intern who will be supporting key officers responsible for facilitating both internal and external information and communication requirements in line with best practice so as to enable Brooke to achieve high impact donkey welfare programs.

Key Responsibilities

External Communication
· Support branding for outgoing communication in line with branding guidelines.
· Support the development, circulation and sharing of documentaries regularly on issues that are of interest to potential donors and other stakeholders.
· Support the development and distribution the external newsletter to target audiences.
· Support the processes of ensuring that the branded items such as brochures, bookmarks, stickers, wheel caps, pens, notebooks, T-shirts and lab coats are designed, produced and distributed during functions, trainings and meetings.

Media engagement
· Support liaising with the media.

Paid Internship-Social Media Intern

HCD Exchange is seeking to hire a social media intern who will assist the HCDExchange Communications Specialist  to manage the HCDExchange’s social media channels as well as support the growing need for the HCDExchange to have additional and intentional youth-oriented content.

Key Relationships

The Social Media intern will work under the direction and supervision of  the Senior Community Manager (based in Kenya), who will be the intern’s focal point-person, overseeing the intern’s work over the period of engagement. The intern will work closely with the Communications Specialist (based in Ghana) on the key activities listed above, and other team members on a need to basis.

Desired Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need a mix of visual, writing and strategic/process development thinking. You will also have some knowledge of graphic design and digital typography, as well as some experience executing social media campaigns. Additionally, you will require:

  • Excellent writing and editing skills with an emphasis on writing for digital consumption. Knowledge of French is a plus.
  • Strong graphic design skills with proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite and/or Sketch/Figma/Canva
  • Experience with digital design and video editing softwares
  • Experience with social media management tools like ContentCal, Hootsuite or Later
  • Experience or keen interest in human-centred design and/or adolescent reproductive health is a plus
  • This role is most ideal for a recent or a soon to be university graduate (first degree in journalism, international relations, communications, media or related discipline)

The African Population and Health Research Center (APHRC) is a leading Africa-based, African-led, international research institution headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya. APHRC seeks to engage an Intern in its Finance Unit to assist with administrative and other Finance-related tasks for an initial period of three months.

Duties/Responsibilities:
 Support the Payables Accountant in ensuring efficient, timely and accurate recording and
payment processing in Microsoft Dynamics.

 Assist in developing and maintaining an effective filing, archiving and record keeping system-
both paper and electronic.

 Assist in bank reconciliation and verification of the vendor balances in the system.
 Assist in the organization and preparation of biweekly meetings which includes preparation
of biweekly reports and taking of minutes.
 Assist in supporting annual audits by retrieving the sampled documents.
 Assist in ensuring proper documentation of payment vouchers and all other supporting
documents.
 Assist in the thorough review and verification of all transactions at point of entry by ensuring
appropriate purchase order matching, credit terms and adherence to appropriate
authorization and budget confirmation and clearance.
 Support in the effective running of daily financial activities of APHRC.
Qualifications, experience and skills:
 Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field; should
have graduated in the last six (6) months.
 Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
 Strong organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills.

Internship Position at UNICEF

Scope of work:

Finance Intern
